Dubbed the “Battle of Bulleen” Old Carey Old Trinity games are proving to be nail biting affairs and last Saturday’s game was no exception for our seniors.  Down by 36 points 5 minutes into the last quarter things clicked, we won the clearances and move the ball forward again and again.  In the period of 10 minutes our young rookie, Adem Yze used all his skill and class and slammed on 5 goals.  Not to be outdone, Jules Rowe marked strongly and goaled twice whilst Happy Laidlaw back after a 6 week injury slammed through a bomb for 60 meters out to secure the win.

After 36 tense minutes and in near darkness the final siren sounded and within seconds Dunshea was awash with OC players, coaches, supporters, and parents keen to get out onto the ground to celebrate a magic win.  Speaking of supporters, Cam Jones was a best of ground candidate with his crutch throwing effort behind the goals in celebration on teh siren despite his broken ankle.

It was an amazing win for the seniors, the second time they have inflicted a painful loss on Old Trinity in successive seasons under very similar circumstances.  This one will live long in our memories, justifiably so.

Not to be out down, Jon Remington and his 2nds got their first win for the season, just rewards for Jon and his team who have never stopped trying in all games this season.  Ocka and his 3rds made it 2 in a row with in defeating Old Trinity whilst the Unders got back on the winners list with a good win over our other neighbour, Marcellin.  From all reports the Geebung was pumping on Saturady night.

Our Olympic lunch was a great success with 70 attending, guest speakers Tiffany Cherry, David Wansbrough and James Tomkins (all pictured below) relived some great memories and gave some vauable insight into the pending London Olympics.

We venture to the Camberwell Sports Ground this weekend to take on a much improved Old Scotch, sitting 4th they will be a big assignment, but I am hoping we can continue our winning form from last Saturday, the boys, coaches and committee have some MOJO back, so get to the ground and support us as we play our brand of true PANTHER football!
